KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami Sindh Amir Dr Merajul Huda Siddiqui has blamed the US for Karachi situation and said the bloodshed and sectarian violence taking place in the city was part of a conspiracy hatched by it.
Speaking at the reorganisation ceremony of JI Sindh on Sunday, he declared that his party would foil such conspiracies. "The entire province, including Karachi, has plunged into lawlessness and extortions, where targeted killings and recovering bodies in gunny bags have become the order of the day. The central as well as provincial government has failed to control the situation," he said.
Meraj said that JI would launch election campaign along with other political and religious parties under the agenda of change and warned of grave consequences if elections are rigged and changed.
"The masses would not accept such results," he said. JI leader said Election Commission of Pakistan should take measures and remove reservations of political parties regarding electoral lists. He claimed that JI had honest leadership and would fully participate in next general elections.
He announced that Mamtaz Hussain Sahto had been appointed general secretary while Asadullah Bhutto, Dr Mamtaz Memon, Rashid Naseem, Abdul Ghafar Umer and Muhammad Hussain Mahnati as Naib Ameers (vice heads), while Abdul Waheed Qureshi, Hafiz Nasrullah Aziz, Allama Hizbullah Jakhar, Abdul Hafeez Bijarani and Nawab Mujahid Baloch as deputy general secretaries of JI Sindh.
